Software
Document imaging software to improve the speed and productivity of business workflows is now being offered by Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) with its Bizhub multi-functional printing systems.
The development is a resuilt of Konica Minolta's distribtion agreement with eCopy, where that company's eCopy document imaging software will enable Konica Minolta customers to convert paper-based information in to digital documents and securely incorporate them in to their business software systems Konica Minolta said it can now offer its customers eCopy's Scanstation, which includes eCopy's Sharescan software and an ergonomic touch screen and keyboard that attach to Konica Minolta Bizhub multi-function devices (MFDs)

Konica Business Machines has launched the 7085 Document Production System, with a maximum A4 copy speed of 85 pages per minute.
Desktop offers imaging tools that include annotation, stamps, optical character recognition (OCR) and the ability to combine documents from both paper and electronic sources, added Komica Minolta.
In addition, eCopy's Connectors are also featured.
They are said to enable users to incorporate documents directly from Konica Minolta Bizhub machines in to business applications.
The application program interface (API)-level integration changes Sharescan in to a client of the enterprise application at the Bizhub.
That is also said to provide real-time interaction between the user interface at the Bizhub and the backend application, which improves document security and ease of use, whilst reducing the required amount of IT administration.
In addition, independent software vendors and corporate developers can add their applications to the list of software that supports eCopy scanning by developing a Connector to the eCopy platform, which will enable their users to scan documents directly to their software using a bizhub MFD, said Konica Minolta.
The Konica Minolta range of document imaging systems ranges from a claimed 13 prints per minute (ppm) multi-functional system, through to the Bizhub Pro 1050e production print system for high speed commercial print applications.
John Howard, head of UK marketing for Konica Minolta Business Solutions, commented: "Konica Minolta is focused on delivering superior systems that address our customers' evolving needs.
