Colour Printers' Lower Cost Of Ownership
Vital
To print gold and diamond certificates with a range of media and a reduced total cost of ownership, UK jewellery retailer Beaverbrooks decided to buy Konica Minolta's Magicolor 2550 printers.
Up to now, Beaverbrooks has used colour printers in store to produce the certificates, as well as occasional colour photographs of couples who buy an engagement ring The company has used a variety of Hewlett-Packard inkjet printers, which have served the business well but were expensive to run

Matching Marketing Deal For Colour Match Software
Konica Minolta has reached an agreement to market Ciba Colibri colour-matching software in Europe.
When the decision was made to upgrade the EPOS till system at its 60 stores in September 2006, Beaverbrooks began looking for an alternative printer.
With various types of media being printed on a range of Hewlett-Packard Deskjet printers, Patrick Walker - Beaverbrooks' head of management information systems sought to source a colour laser printer that would not only meet the current needs but would also provide a system that would be able to adapt to any changes in technology, whilst fitting in to Beaverbrooks varying working environments.
The company needed full-colour printing capabilities from a compact system that was reliable and was compatible with a mix of Windows operating systems, whilst remote monitoring and support capabilities was desirable.
The installation of the Magicolor 2550 printers was rolled out over a period of three months after a successful trial, where Beaverbrooks found that the machine was successful in printing the different types of media being used within each store.
The company said that the Magicolor 2550 exceeded all requirements because it was the only printer on the market that had a small enough foot print needed to fit in to the cabinets in store and could also take a second paper tray, which is an important benefit as staff can load plain paper and certificates in to the printer at the same time.
That increases efficiency and reduces the total cost of ownership.
Patrick Walker explained: "We were impressed by the commitment of the Konica Minolta team, the price, cost of consumables and the three year support package available.
We would not have chosen Konica Minolta's printers had we not been impressed with the service provided and prices quoted from pre-sales. Request a free brochure from Konica Minolta Business Solutions UK ...
Konica Minolta worked very hard to provide evaluation equipment and on-site assistance and we have also found the level of after sales support to be very good.".
