Multi-functional printers get monochrome systems

Konica Minolta has launched the Bizhub 423 series, with four monochrome systems added to the Bizhub mono multi-functional printer range for versatile colour scanning with monochrome output.

According to the company, the Bizhub 223, Bizhub 283, Bizhub 363 and Bizhub 423 offer a mono output of 22, 28, 36 and 42 pages per minute, respectively.

In addition, the Bizhub 423 mono series also provides colour scanning as standard with colour input functions.

As true A3 multifunctional printers, each of the Bizhub 423 series is claimed to provide complete communication support with print, scan and copy as standard, and can be optimised with Konica Minolta's range of systems that enable the user to tailor and streamline each Bizhub model to the specific demands of individual workflow.

Konica Minolta said that the Bizhub 423 series improves on the company's mono range and shares an improved operating system, open API and a larger 2GB hard disk with the Bizhub colour multifunctional printer series.

The models are also lighter and offer a smaller footprint, the company added.

It is claimed that each of the new models also has the capacity to scan up to A3 size originals in colour and black-and-white with a scan speed of up to 70 originals per minute.

There is also in-built support for all relevant formats with scan to e-mail, FTP, SMB, user box (HDD required) USB and Twain as standard, with the further options of Jpeg, Tiff, PDF, compact PDF, XPS and compact XPS available.

The Bizhub 423 series also features Best, Konica Minolta's Bizhub Extended Solutions Technology, which is claimed to enable the user to tailor and streamline each Bizhub with input flexibility to meet the requirements of each department or workflow.

For example, the Bizhub 423 series can be optionally upgraded to provide document capturing and distribution capabilities such as OCR implementation and conversion to specific file formats, such as PDF.

In addition to supporting scan applications, Best can also provide gateways to workflows in other areas of the business, such as accounting, authentication and follow-me printing, and with full panel integration the Bizhub 423 series is ready for operation with no need for any additional hardware.
