Colour printer for decentralised office tasks

Konica Minolta Business Solutions has launched the Bizhub C35 A4 colour multifunctional printer, with print, copy, scan and fax capabilities as standard, suitable for decentralised office tasks.

The printer will be available to customers on a cost-per-copy price plan direct from the company and through its authorised dealers.

The new Bizhub C35 can serve as a single, central hub for small businesses and workgroups.

The output speed is 30 pages per minute for colour and black and white.

The Bizhub C35P is a print-only variant of the Bizhub C35 for customers that do not require the scanning, faxing or copying facilities.

To simplify complex print jobs, the Bizhub C35 features the company's Emperon print technology.

The Emperon controller has an 800MHz processor and standard 1.5Gb RAM with a 120Gb hard drive and PCL, Postscript, XPS and PDF 1.7 support.

For network connectivity, standard gigabit Ethernet is supported with the added flexibility of USB 2.0 peer-to-peer connection.

The Bizhub C35 has a first page-out speed of less than 13 seconds for network printing and copying.

Full 30-page-per-minute productivity is maintained for copying from the ADF and duplex output.

The system uses Konica Minolta's patented Simitri HD polymerised toner.

With smaller, smoother, more uniform toner particles, Simitri HD enables fusing at lower temperatures and produces high-quality images with a wider colour gamut, according to the company.

Document scanning can be accomplished to email, FTP, HDD, SMB and USB.

Scan formats include PDF and compact PDF, XPS, TIFF and JPEG.

The Super G3 fax functionality includes analogue and PC fax capabilities, with the sending and receiving of faxes via the PC.

Standard paper capacity is 250 sheets from the main drawer plus a 100-sheet bypass.

This can be increased with an optional two further paper drawers, each with a 500-sheet capacity.

Paper sizes from A6 to A4 and paper weights from 60gsm to 210gsm are supported.

Konica Minolta's Pagescope Enterprise Suite provides a suite of integrated software and utilities.

Malcolm Smith, group product manager for Konica Minolta office products, said: 'Larger organisations usually print the bulk of their office jobs at centrally installed A3 multifunctional production centres and complement these with smaller satellite devices for specific workgroups.

'For these decentralised office tasks right at one's desk, our new Bizhub C35 and C35P are ideal.

'They are compact, operate quietly and process confidential data with discretion,' he added.

With these devices, customers retain many of the benefits that they would get with the company's A3 Colour MFP series.
