4-colour B2 press accelerates job turn-rounds
Following its relocation to a new facility in Abingdon (UK) Leachprint has installed its first four-colour press in the form of a B2 Lithrone S429 with in-line coater from Komori.
Also installed were four folders, a sheeter, an aqueous varnish unit, pattern perforating unit and an automated roll handling facility for the reel stands.
The folder configurations have allowed the company to run as two separate 16-page presses.
The variety of formats and markets that the company will be able to penetrate with this configuration makes it the most flexible 16-page set up in Italy.
The two presses incorporate fully automatic platechanging and the highly successful Komori KHS system.
The facility of KHS means that the company can achieve the shortest possible make-ready time, thus minimising paper waste and production cost.
In a market where run lengths are diminishing, the ability to reduce makeready cost is becoming an increasing prerequisite for web offset purchases. Request a free brochure from Komori UK ...
