Eastbourne-based Manor Creative has now commissioned a Komori five-colour Lithrone S40.

Eastbourne-based Manor Creative has now commissioned a Komori five-colour Lithrone S40.

It joins a Komori Lithrone four-colour and two-colour Sprint, enabling the company to meet the demands of its growing customer base.

Martin Hughes, managing director of Manor Creative said: "Over the past few years one of the major trends affecting the industry has been the sharp reduction in turn-around times.

We have been growing year on year and customers now require a much quicker service.

In order to achieve this we recognised that we needed to offer a one-stop-shop solution to ensure we maintain tight control over the whole process from design to finishing." "The Komori B1 Lithrone installation is part of a major capital investment for us which also includes a Creo thermal CTP system, the setting up of an inhouse creative and design division to provide copywriting, design and multi-media options and the purchase of a new laminating machine," he commented.

Hughes said the particular appeal of the new press, in addition to providing much greater in-house capacity, was that it would enable Manor Creative to approach both new and existing customers that require work to be turned around on a B1 machine.

"We did consider other press manufacturers and undertook exhaustive tests in Britain and Germany before deciding on the LS540.

Komori, as you would expect with Japanese equipment, included as standard many of the optional extras offered by their competitors and being an existing Komori user, we were already aware of their superb engineering, service and reliability.

Komori was the only manufacturer to offer genuine fully automatic plate change, providing a considerable saving in make-ready times," concluded Hughes.

Manor Creative was founded in 1973.

The company employs 55 staff and has an estimated turnover of £3.8m for the coming year.

The company produces a wide range of journals, brochures and catalogues for blue chip companies in a variety of industries including the packaging and pharmaceutical sectors.
