The advancements made by Komori during the last few years is one of the reasons put forward by Cardiff printer Zenith Media for placing an order at Drupa 2004 for a six-colour Lithrone LS640 with coater.

The press will be the first Komori LS640 with coater in Wales and is one of the most highly specified in the Lithrone range said Komori.

"We purchased our first Komori press, a six-colour Lithrone 626, seven years ago and this has provided us with excellent service.

During the last few years Komori technology has advanced significantly and we wouldn't be going back to Komori again if we were not confident that this press is going to take us forward with leading edge technology into the future," said managing director Max Moody.

Zenith Media has customers throughout the UK and its 48 staff produces work that covers the full commercial spectrum.

The company, which was formed in 1993, had a management buyout two years ago and this latest purchase is part of a continuing investment programme that has included a complete update of its pre-press department.

"We work 24 hours a day, so achieve a high throughput of work.

The level of automation and the degree of colour control offered by the Lithrone LS640 means that the operator could run the press with total confidence that the job will be consistent in every respect.

This becomes even more important where we have to match jobs printed on different machines.

The coater provides the opportunity to turn work around extremely quickly and one of the advantages of this is that clients can pass work on site much more easily because they do not have to wait for print to dry.

This is a big saving to them and to us and will help us to enhance our relationship with clients," emphasised Moody.
