Two Komori Presses To Increase Quality And Service
Two new Komori presses, a 10-colour Lithrone S29H Perfector and a five-colour Lithrone S29H, will help Matthews the Printers increase client service and quality when they are installed this summer.
"We need a press that will allow us to efficiently serve several different markets, from corporate and commercial to greetings cards, and the Lithrone LS640P is ideal," said managing director Jeremy Bacon.
" In addition to fast make-readies and low wastage, the new Lithrone will provide extremely consistent and accurate colour control.
One of the most important things for us in choosing the press was that Komori has a proven track record in perfecting technology," he added.
Bacon commented that during the company's research he travelled to Japan to see Lithrone perfectors being built and tested.
He added that Komori's three cylinder perfecting mechanism, which would allow the company to perfect work over a wide stock range and at high speed, is key to its success in this area.
"We estimate that the new Lithrone LS640P will be 20% more productive than the six-colour Lithrone it is replacing, even though that is not an old machine.
The greetings card market in particular is very competitive and the new Lithrone LS640P will enable us to produce first class print as cost effectively as possible," said Bacon.
Komori said it has seen a big increase in sales of Lithrone perfectors to all sectors of the industry and the ability to customise its presses to suit individual requirements has helped to make the Lithrone series even more popular.
"We are increasingly being asked to build presses with a complex variety of features and the new generation of Lithrones were developed with this capability as a prerequisite," said Philip Dunn, head of marketing at Komori UK.
"For example, we have several customers who operate Lithrones with a combination of flexo and sealing units, plus UV and IR drying units interspersed throughout the printing units, which results in a huge amount of flexibility. Request a free brochure from Komori UK ...
With the ability to perfect along with even higher levels of automation, the Lithrones can now take their place at the centre of truly integrated print manufacturing systems.".
