The family run business, which has been an all Heidelberg house since it was formed more than 30 years ago, has undergone a period of expansion recently with new MIS and pre-press facilities.

"We looked at all the leading sheet-fed press suppliers and Komori's Lithrone L528 offered by far the smallest footprint of any 28-inch model," said Arron managing director Aston Colley.

"Like many printers space is at a premium, and the output capacity of the Lithrone L528, compared to the amount of floor area it take, is exceptional.

During our research into the latest presses on the market we even spoke to our key customers to find out what their future print requirements were likely to be.

All the printers we spoke to about Komori were extremely complimentary and the company has certainly been very responsive in listening to our needs," added Colley.

The Lithrone L528 completes the company's current investment programme and it would enable Arron to provide a much faster service to its customers, while it would benefit from quicker make-readies, lower wastage and the ability to handle a greater number of jobs during each shift.

"In addition, the Komori press can be used with stock as thick as 800 microns, which means we'll have the ability to produce work in-house that we have previously had to send out.

That has been an issue with some packaging orders," commented Colley.

The Lithrone L528, due to be delivered in October, will immediately be operated on a double day shift.

The press will be the company's first five-unit model, allowing it to seal work so that it can more quickly be sent for finishing.

Arron Print supplies commercial and packaging print to customers throughout the UK.

In addition, the company has a marketing division, Blackberry, which offers design services.
