UK printers who want to see the latest in long perfector technology and CTP systems can now do so by visiting Komori UK's Leeds headquarters, with its new 10-colour Lithrone 1028P perfector.

The installation is part of a major refurbishment of its showroom and tat includes equipping its pre-press suite with a Screen Platerite 8800 CTP system.

"We're delighted to be working together with Komori on this project.

To fully demonstrate the productivity of the Platerite 8800 CTP system and the quality of the plates it produces requires an industry leading press, such as the Lithrone and the technology from the two companies complement each other perfectly," said Brian Filler, managing director of Screen UK.

The Screen system will be used to produce plates for all of Komori's press demonstrations at the site and has been integrated with the Lithrone 1028P, as well as MIS systems, to create a totally CIP3/4 working environment.

That will be extended to include a six-colour Lithrone LS640 with coater, which will be commissioned at the showroom early next year, plus additional Komori presses in the future.

"When you demonstrate a press today, you have to be able to show how you handle the digital data for a job in order to set the press parameters as effectively as possible.

Printers want the ability to see complete workflows demonstrated, from origination to job management to final output," said Martin Rickards, chief executive of Komiri UK.
