Satoshi Mochida, managing director of Komori Corporation commented: "These results reflect a strong performance worldwide, with an increase in overseas orders especially of our new Lithrone LS40 B1 range, and is a representation of our investment in core products and manufacturing facilities.
The next phase at the new 185,000 squre-metre factory at Tsukuba, which specialises in the manufacturing of B1 Lithrone presses, has commenced in order to provide us with additional production capacity to meet this increased demand." In China, Komori reports sales in excess of 900 Lithone L40 units in the past year, whilst in the Japanese domestic market, it reports over 30 web systems sales for the year to September 2004.
Launched at Drupa, the SPICA, a four-colour two-over-two convertible perfector, is also exceeding sales expectations.
In the US, Komori said it has been quick to benefit from the general economic upturn, reflected in a strong presence at Graphexpo, Chicago, where the company announced a series of key orders for Lithrone LS40 long perfectors, it reported.
Europe has seen an increase in presses sold and also reports higher level of sales for Komori perfecting presses.
