Two Komori Presses To Increase Quality And Service
Two new Komori presses, a 10-colour Lithrone S29H Perfector and a five-colour Lithrone S29H, will help Matthews the Printers increase client service and quality when they are installed this summer.
"We want the ability to print four-colours both sides plus a seal in one pass but we also need the flexibility to perfect heavyweight stock, and this is exactly what the Lithrone 1040P enables us to do that the other presses do not.
It will provide us with extremely high productivity levels combined with fast make-readies, making it cost effective for a wide range of run lengths," said Friary managing director Jon Parvin.
"There is no doubt in my mind that perfecting presses will become the norm, because why should a printer want to buy two presses or put work through a press twice when one machine can do it so much more efficiently.
I'm not saying everyone has to buy a long perfector but I believe it will become increasingly difficult for printers to make a living with single-sided presses.
The economics are simple to evaluate," he added.
Parvin continued to say that the new Komori press provides his company with enormous versatility.
"For instance, we can switch easily from printing and sealing text for a book on 80gsm to printing the book covers on 400gsm stock.
The Lithrone 1040P will be linked in to our newly created CIP4 operation and will be used with KPG plates output on a Lotum 800 CTP system.
We've been impressed by everything we've seen at Komori, from the salesman to the demonstration and the accompanying services.
We're confident that the Lithrone 1040P will significantly improve our cost effectiveness as a business and enable us to provide our customers with an even more efficient service," said Parvin. Request a free brochure from Komori UK ...
