Komori Corporation has announced that for the year ending March 31 it experienced increased sales and profits - with pre-tax profits for the year have increased by 54 per cent from 6,336 million yen last year to 9,783 million yen.
Sales increased by eight per cent to 111,822 million yen compared with 103,442 million yen for the previous financial year.
The company added that its order intake levels also support its forecasts of further growth in the next 12 months, with net sales for the 12 months to March 31 2006 of 120,000 million yen expected.
Announcing the highlights of the results, Komori's managing director Satoshi Mochida said: "Over the past decade, Komori has steadfastly maintained the policy of growing the business organically by focusing on our core strength of quality, customer care and manufacturing efficiency.
This policy is now showing dividends, resulting in strong sales growth in all our major markets in Asia, North America and Europe, particularly through the success of recent developments such as the new B1 Lithrone LS40, B2 SPICA 429 and the System 38 web offset presses.
Forecasting as we do on continued growth, the major phase of the 185,000 square metre factory in Tsukuba is moving forward swiftly, which will double our capacity to make B1 presses when manufacturing commences at the end of 2005." Martin Rickards, chairman of Komori UK, said: "We've been especially pleased with our new sales growth in Europe and the new emerging markets in eastern Europe and the Middle East, with our new LS40 series, the SPICA 429 convertible press and our new web presses.
At Ipex 2006 we look forward to introducing further new developments, which we expect to strengthen our position further across the full product range.".
