5-Colour Lithrone Meets Fast Turn-Round Demand
Eastbourne-based Manor Creative has now commissioned a Komori five-colour Lithrone S40.
The decision to purchase two five-colour 28" presses, one manual and one with automatic make-ready, was based on the need to serve business to business and agency clients, and to increase overall capacity.
Interprint has a broad customer base and the two five colour presses allow much increased flexibility and a noticeable improvement in print quality, said Komori.
The NL 528 (EM) will be used for short-run time critical jobs where a quick make-ready time and the ability to make multiple plate changes is critical.
The NL 528 (ES) is already being put to the test on longer runs, with skilled operators managing exceptionally fast make-ready times, added the press manufacturer.
As jobs are delivered in a wide variety of formats, it is essential that the new presses integrate with the company's existing production line.
Interprint offers a complete design, photography and print service, where clients can build a concept or utilise an individual service.
Rob Reeve, Interprint's chairman, said: "As a previous all-Heidelberg house, in the past we had stuck with what we knew.
Prior to this latest investment, I spoke to other users and felt that the price difference was not justified.
The print tests from Komori were excellent and the company's machines have ticked all the boxes for speed, quality and after sales service.
Both manufacturers offer the same benefits but the flexibility that Komori provides during the delivery and installation process is far superior." He continued: "The new press is modern, runs much more quickly and produces a better quality finish and our operators have commented on its ease of use.
When we have the two identical presses up and running in the New Year, we will be able to utilise the one plate registry system and make plates that will run on either press.
We plan to produce significantly longer run lengths as we can use the presses in tandem, and even use as a 10-colour, five-back-five. Request a free brochure from Komori UK ...
This will allow us to price even more competitively and hopefully lead to new opportunities.".
