4-colour B2 press accelerates job turn-rounds
Following its relocation to a new facility in Abingdon (UK) Leachprint has installed its first four-colour press in the form of a B2 Lithrone S429 with in-line coater from Komori.
Bill Livingstone, L and S's managing director, said: "We have identified a need to increase productivity to meet the growing demands of our customers.
With many major blue chip clients we need the capacity to grow at the same rate as they do.
We plan to treble shift the new press immediately to give our customers faster turn-around and quicker delivery." He added: "The new press will meet this requirement.
The press has many new features, such as pre-set ink controls, automatic ink feed system and automatic plate changing.
With the new technology we are confident that the new press will more than meet all our requirements.
We will also be upgrading our existing Komori presses so that all inking will be controlled from a central processor and this is one of the main reasons why we decided to invest in a new Komori." Livingstone also explained that L and S has just finished installing a new CTP system and a binding line as part of a long term strategy of capital investment.
