Komori has installed two 16-page system 38SII web presses at Officine Grfiche Calderini.
The factory already houses two B1 two-colour Roland presses and three B2 Komoris, including a two-colour and a five-colour machine and coater with IR drying.
Nick Hollings, a Trafford Press director, said: "We installed a Komori Lithrone S 428 in December 2004 and have based this purchase decision on the fact that the prevuious machine has been so successful.
There have been no issues with the press and its simplicity has been a winning factor.
The make-ready times are good and we are pleased with the quality, reliability and service from Komori - we didn't need to look anywhere else when making this investment." The new LS 428 is expected to increase productivity by as much as 50 per cent said Komori and Trafford Press will be taking on two new sales staff and has adopted 24-hour working patterns.
Turnover and profit will increase as a result.
In the forthcoming months, Hollings said he will be investing further in specialist finishing equipment.
The company also aims to expand in the publishing sector to maximise productivity of the new press. Request a free brochure from Komori UK ...
