Limerick (Eire) family firm Davis Printers has installed the first five colour B2 Komori Lithrone S529 press in the country The five colour 29-inch press is the fifth Komori for Davis Printers and it has joined a four-colour Lithrone 26 and two smaller presses on the factory floor

Davis Printers managing director, Glenn Davis, said: "We chose the Komori for its speed and unbeatable colour management system, the PDC Lite, which was chosen for quality purposes.

The press runs at 16,000 sheets per hour and is providing much needed extra capacity.

Customers are constantly demanding higher quality but with a faster turn-around and the new LS529 will ensure we can continue to provide a first class service." The company produces quality colour corporate work, as well as magazines and brochures with run lengths that vary from 2,000 to 20,000 copies.

Davis Printers said it is committed to addressing technological issues and has also invested in a new CTP system.

Davis commented: "Komori is a company with positive people to deal with and who provide excellent support.

The past 18 years of doing business with Komori has proved that.

We did look at other B2 press manufacturers but Komori closed the deal because of its professional attitude and reliability.

We will address any future technological issues as they arise but at present we are focusing on delivering excellent results to our customers." Steve Turner, sales manager at Komori UK, said: "This is an exciting installation for Komori and Davis Printers.

Although Komori has secured several orders from Ireland since Ipex 2006, this is the very first LS29 to be delivered.

Davis Printers is a great example of a traditional family business embracing technological developments." Davis Printers was founded a century ago and has been operating in the Davis name ever since, the only remaining business in the area still run under the original family name.

The printing house employs 14 people and has achieved growth at a rate of 15 per cent - 20 per cent over the past year as a result of keeping up to with technology and taking continual steps to satisfy its customer base, said Komori. Request a free brochure from Komori UK ...
