Two Komori Presses To Increase Quality And Service
Two new Komori presses, a 10-colour Lithrone S29H Perfector and a five-colour Lithrone S29H, will help Matthews the Printers increase client service and quality when they are installed this summer.
That area now includes central and eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Rickards' major role over that period has been to implement the expansion of Komori's northern European network, which now comprises 18 distributors.
Rickards started as managing director of Komori UK in 1991, moving from Harris Corporation, where he was managing director of the European bindery division.
Over his 35 years in the field of printing, he has enjoyed extensive influence across the industry, in his capacities on the Ipex management team for over 20 years, his two terms as chairman of Picon, his presidency of Ipex 1993 and his position on the APMI council, said the company.
Of his retirement, Rickards said: "I will greatly miss the industry that has provided me with such an interesting and rewarding career, but having worked away from home for the last 16 years, I am looking forward to reducing my golf handicap, contributing more of my time to charity work and keeping my garden in order." He added: "Komori is an excellent corporation with a superb development strategy, an excellent product range and high calibre personnel throughout the world and, naturally, I will miss such close contact with them and with all my friends in the industry." Neil Sutton, Komori UK's managing director since March 2006, commented: "Martin has been responsible not only for the continued strengthening of Komori in the UK and latterly across the rest of Europe but he has also helped many of us to develop our own careers at Komori.
