5-Colour Perfector Makes Debut At Drupa
2008

Komori will be showing the five-colour version of its Spica 29P Perfector for the first time at a world show during the Drupa 2008 exhibition.

The company said that following the success of its four-colour Spica since its launch in 2002, the press has earned a reputation as the most adaptable and capable perfecting press in its class and has now evolved to enable printers of all sizes to offer added value by varnishing, or printing special colours on the fifth unit The entry level press is said to still benefit from the same small footprint and automation but it will allow printers to step up a gear and enter new markets with a competitive edge

The Spica is said to be suitable for on-demand printing and to be compatible with digital workflows.

For smaller print shops that have been handling mostly single-colour and two-colour work, the Spica is appropriate for four-colour, or five-colour printing.

The Spica's small footprint are also claimed to make the most efficient use of shop floor space, whilst for medium-size printers, the press is adaptable and able to meet tight job turn-around times when the work consists of many short to medium runs of a variety of jobs.

Automation as standard includes tool-free plate clamping, automated plate changing, automatic ink roller and blanket wash and a fully-automatic 60-second change-over between straight printing and perfecting, claimed Komori. Request a free brochure from Komori UK ...
