5-Colour Lithrone Meets Fast Turn-Round Demand
Eastbourne-based Manor Creative has now commissioned a Komori five-colour Lithrone S40.
Indigo specialises in what it terms 'packaged print' - batched printing of flyers and business cards.
Other work includes corporate brochures, magazines and catalogues for customers that include BBC Children in Need, B and Q, Southampton University and Warwick University Students' Union.
The company, which started life 17 years ago in a back street garage in Southampton, now employs 27 people.
According to Komori, the Lithrone S1029P will enable Indigo to provide higher quality products more quickly and efficiently for customers.
The Perfecting mechanism on the new press will cut printing time in half and the increased automation and further computerised controls also mean that set-up times are reduced and fewer resources will be involved in the make-ready process.
Richard Docherty, the managing director of Indigo Press, explained: "This is a major milestone in the development of this company.
We are growing significantly, have demanding customers and we are investing to exceed their expectations.
They need faster turn-around times and more work producing, so this investment means that we are very well placed to cope with those demands now and as they grow in the future." He continued: "Our target is to achieve a GBP3 million turnover in this calendar year and to achieve GBP4 million with the presses we now have at our disposal over the next two or three years.
We are a local company and are proud of our roots here and the people we employ who share in the success we are achieving." Phil Holland, Komori's general sales manager for the south of England, said: "Indigo is an exciting, forward thinking company that strives to keep ahead of its competitors by installing the latest technology.
