The Komori UK Workshop brand of events are being re-named on November 4 - 6 under the banner of 'Innovations in Print' to better reflect the technological development and diversity within the industry.

Over the past three years, visitors to Workshop events, held each autumn at the Komori showrooms, have seen them evolve from an open-house demonstrating various suppliers' equipment, into a high profile mini-exhibition showcasing some of the most innovative print and finishing manufacturers in the UK.

Although the format of the event has changed, the organisers, Friedheim International, Komori UK and Print Finance, have not lost sight of their original concept.

"From the beginning our goal has always been to offer the printer alternative solutions," says Paul Coggins, managing director of Print Finance.

"We organised the first Workshop in 2005 with the aim of displaying the complete range of options available throughout the whole production process.

The partnership of these leading companies allowed customers for the first time to witness ground breaking printing and finishing equipment in seamless coordination and enabled each guest to identify their ideal personal printroom solution.

Last year it literally doubled in size as new partners came on board, and we now feel that 'Innovations in Print' better reflects the progressive and fast moving industry that we operate in," he added.

Neil Sutton, managing director of Komori UK, said :"The Workshop events have led the industry to look at supplier events differently," says .

"We were delighted with the amount of interest shown in our third event last October.

We try to keep each event fresh and exciting for visitors and we broke the mould by inviting digital suppliers to exhibit alongside Komori presses.

We fully appreciate that many of our customers utilise both types of technology and we need to embrace this trend." Peter Morris, managing director of Friedheim UK, commented: "We understand that in today's fast-moving marketplace, customers demand a range of sophisticated printed products in a variety of finishes, in less time and with improved quality.

The access to independent information, exclusive product launches and live workflow demonstrations is invaluable to anyone involved in pre-press, print, finishing or print buying." The company believes re-branding will help reflect the technological development and diversity in the industry.
