John McCormick installs Komori colour printer

A Komori UK product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Oct 1, 2008

John McCormick has installed a Komori B2 five-colour Spica 29 sheetfed printer.

It is the company's first step into full-colour sheetfed printing, having previously fulfilled its colour work on narrow-web presses and two-colour Heidelbergs, or by outsourcing the work to trade printers.

There are space limitations at John McCormick, and the compact design took up less room than other presses of a similar specification.

The compact body houses Komori's short make-ready system.

To handle digitisation, the Spica is also equipped with the PQC-U print quality control system, which offers full CIP4 data compatibility.

As well as having the Komorimatic dampening system, it also enables environmentally friendly non-alcohol printing.

Almost all tasks, including automatic wash-up, can be performed from the touch-screen on the integrated operating console, reducing the operator workload and raising productivity.
