TPS Print in Greenwich (UK) believes that it is capitalising on a growth market with the installation of a KAS Mailmaster 465HS enveloper.

"It's the last bit of the jigsaw and now makes us totally self-sufficient," said Phil Williams, TPS's managing director.

The company, which set up five years ago as B1 printers, has developed over the years with CTP and a finishing department.

"The move into mailing and fulfilment is as a direct result of our customers asking for a single source of supply," Williams explained.

"We do a lot of printing and finishing for the exhibition industry and then we were having to ship the finished material to a mailing house.

We did some insertions by hand but it was not viable.

We saw the KAS Mailmaster, which inserts into DL to oversize C4 envelopes, being demonstrated at Digital Print World.

I felt that it was exactly the machine we needed.

What appealed to us was its simplicity because this is a new venture and nobody has previous experience.

It's also a very well built machine and fast too, so it had everything we wanted at a very good price," he added.

He continued to say that KAS Paper Systems had been very supportive throughout TPS's learning curve but the company got in to production very quickly.

"The company trained one of our finishing staff and if we did get the odd problem, they came out straight away.

It was essential that we worked in partnership with the supplier," continued Williams.

Currently, TPS is being selective about the fulfilment work it does.

"We don't want to run before we can walk.

We're very confident that there is a lot of work out there that will come our way now that we can offer a one stop service," concluded Williams.
