Cost-Effective Quick Creasing At Digital Print
KAS Paper Systems is to launch the Crease Matic 150, a programmable card creaser, which has been produced for the short to medium run digital print market.
The process will use the KAS Mailmaster to insert documentation printed on a Xerox printer.
"We had been aware of KAS for a long time and felt that the machine may be suitable because of the simplicity and ease of operation.
It requires minimal training because everything is very accessible making it very easy to clear any jams," pointed out Allsop.
He saw the Mailmaster 465 HS being demonstrated at the KAS showroom at Dunstable, evaluated it thoroughly and it met all the Nationwide's criteria, which were for quick set up, the facility to handle thick booklets and the ability to insert in to all envelope sizes, including C4 within the company's budget.
Nationwide chose a six insert station machine of which it uses five stations.
"We have to send different documentation depending whether the property is in England and Wales or Scotland and Northern Ireland, together with the letter and a reply envelope.
The project is currently being piloted with four mortgage centres before it is finally rolled out nationwide.
Once our system receives the information from the centres over our MPOS web system, we print it on the Xerox and then it goes to the KAS Mailmaster, which reads the optical marks, collates the information and inserts it into the envelope.
This system ensures that all offers which are received by 3.30pm will be mailed out the same day, so that the customers receive their offer the next days," said Allsop.
