The KBA Cortina newspaper web press will not be on display at Drupa in Dusseldorf due to lack of space, the company has announced.

The KBA Cortina newspaper web press will not be on display at Drupa in Dusseldorf due to lack of space, the company has announced.

To make up for its absence, KBA is planning to demonstrate the prototype, complete with retrofit automatic plate changing and mini-gaps on the blanket cylinders at its Offenburg plant.

The company is also planning to hold an open house in Offenburg to promote the new water-washable inks, Shark W, developed by Sun Chemical for the Cortina as a tool for enhancing coldset ecology and quality, along with cost efficiency.

KBA said the Cortina has been selling well over the past few months, with sales at Rodi Rotatiedruk, Holland, Freiburger Druck, Germany and Persgroep in Belgium.

The press manufacturer has also said it is to stage an open house at the end of March at its Radebeul facility, where it said it will produce some surprises.
