More Chinese Orders For KBA Newspaper Web Presses
KBA has been booking orders from Chinese newspaper publishers for three more single-width Comet and Continent presses, two of them heatset machines.
The leading newspaper printer and publisher in Morocco, Maroc Soir prints a total of six daily and six weekly titles, some of them for other domestic and foreign publishing houses.
The Continent is positioned at the high end of the 2/1 market, which accounts for around 20% of global newspaper press sales.
The 45,000 copies per hour (cph), single-floor press line will comprise five four-high towers with a 578mm (223/4") cut-off and a web width variable from 635mm to 870mm (25" - 34.25").
The configuration includes automatic ink pumping, eight Megtec AR70A reel stands, an insertion deck, a folder superstructure with two balloon formers, an AF 16 jaw folder, a quarterfold facility and two control stations featuring EAE's Print PP job-scheduling and press presetting system plus a diagnostics PC for remote maintenance.
Provision has been made to add automatic colour register controls and a section stitcher at a later date.
