The trio of KBA Rapida presses at Italian printer Grafica Artistica Meridionale (GAM), in Naples, will be transformed at the end of 2004 into a quartet when it is joined by one of our new 18,000 sheets per hour (sph) Rapida 105s.

GAM has ordered a six-colour version with dual coating in the form of a coater followed by two inter-unit dryers, a second coater and delivery extension.

The company closed the deal with KBA on its stand at Drupa 2004.

GAM is said to be a market leader in label printing, and many of its labels are affixed to the tin cans that are shipped all over the world from the canning factories in the Gulf of Salerno.

It provides a one-stop service from label design to printing, storage and just-in-time delivery.

GAM's technical staff first set eyes on the new Rapida 105 six weeks ago at KBA's pre-Drupa open house in Radebeul (Germany).
