KBA has announced that the volume of orders it has received at Drupa 2004 for sheetfed offset presses has surpassed all its expectations, even topping the record level of the previous show The German press manufacturer made the announcement at the halfway stage of this year's event

The company said that an unusually large number of prospects had already expressed interest in a new KBA press at a pre-Drupa open house organised at its Radebeul facility at the end of March, which drew some 1,500 members of the trade.

KBA's web press division booked a string of orders for 16pp, 48pp and 64pp commercial presses, several of its smaller newspaper presses and a big TR 10B rotogravure press line for TSB Schwann-Bagel in Monchengladbach.

More projects are in the pipeline, most of them for the new 16pp Compacta 217, waterless Cortina and 6/2 Commander, added KBA.

The company will not release definite sales figures until its analysts' conference is held on May 17 in Dusseldorf.

According to marketing director Klaus Schmidt, the final figures for Drupa will not be available until a few weeks after the fair because financing cannot always be finalised at such short notice. Request free introductory details about products from KBA ...
