Dutch Printer Extends KBA Production Capacity
Dutch printing house Janssen Pers Rotatiedruk, a longstanding KBA customer based in Gennep, has ordered an extension to the single-width Continent web press it installed in 1999.
Wing Hung currently runs a total of 17 KBA sheetfed offset presses (70 printing units and 10 coaters, plus a 74 Karat) in its in Dongguan and Shanghai production plants.
Wing Hung Shanghai and Shore To Shore's facilities in Sri Lanka, India and other global locations will soon be taking delivery of more KBA presses, which may also include the 74 Karat DI.
Discussions in respect of that deal are currently under discussion at Drupa.

Mail and Standard Set Flexo Standards Higher
The world's largest flexo newspaper production installation is growing even bigger.
Wing Hung has already made a declaration of intent to buy further 74 Karat DI offset presses, said KBA.
Feasibility and quality tests are currently being conducted to compare the performance of the 74 Karat in Dongguan with that of another press located in the UK.
The Karat would also be used to print plastic labels, including lenticular film.
The software, provided by Humaneyes, has already been installed.
Since a large proportion of the jobs printed on the company's conventional sheetfed offset presses entail special colours, the 74 Karat's ability to reproduce Pantone colours with CMYK inks was a compelling factor its favour said KBA.
KBA said that with hopes to further strengthen its globally capabilities, Wing Hung and Shore To Shore's objective is to offer brand manufacturers, most of them from the clothing industry, an identical standard of quality and workflow irrespective of location.
Although Wing Hung operates an array of KBA sheetfed presses, it was the first time top managers from Wing Hung and STS's various facilities had been to KBA's Radebeul site.
Wing Hung's production locations in Dongguan and Shanghai cover more than 50,000 square metres (530,000 square feet) of production space and it employs over 1,800 people.
Wing Hung and STS have expanded their presence in Asia, Europe, North and Central America and in 1999 Wing Hung achieved ISO 9002 quality certification.
Eight of STS's manufacturing facilities, which operate in major clothing markets worldwide, have followed Wing Hung's example.
Wing Hung and Shore To Shore's main products are barcode and variable information labels, tags and packaging, including folding cartons, graphic tags, adhesive tags and labels using various substrates and materials. Request free introductory details about products from KBA ...
