Horst Kordes is the artist whose works feature in KBA's calendar for 2004, 'Dreamland', which the company said has been enormously popular amongst customers worldwide, even winning an award in the USA.

Some of those paintings, along with new works, have been displayed on KBA's stand at Drupa.

They have also been reproduced as posters on the Rapida 105 Universal exhibited at the show, and autographed by the artist for selected visitors.

Inspired by the response to his work, KBA had the idea of commissioning Kordes to decorate the printing unit covers on the new 18,000 sheets per hour (sph) Rapida 105 coater press displayed on the Drupa stand.

Taking as his theme 'In the Realm of Colours', Kordes decorated the seven printing-unit covers, one each day, with images drawn from the five continents - Africa, Asia (China and Japan), Australia, Europe, North and South America.

Alongside his artistic activities Kordes is also engaged in a UNESCO project, educating children in need.

At a press conference KBA's Albrecht Bolza-Schunemann handed over a cheque for 1,000 Euros with a pledge to produce free of charge some of the print work for the UNESCO benefit gala in the autumn.
