Belgian sheetfed offset company Antilope Printing has struck gold in the 2004 Sappi European Printer of the Year awards.

The 38 winners were selected from 1,812 entries submitted by 782 printers from 34 countries.

Antilope won the award in the book category for its entry 'Ralle - Master of the Town of Consuls'.

Like most of Antilope's products the book was printed on a KBA Rapida 105, of which the company has five.

One is a four-colour machine with automatic perfecting and there are four five-colour presses, one of which has a coater, delivery extension and board facility, whilst another has a perforator.

All five presses have an advanced level of automation said KBA, including plate changing, ink cooling, Densitronic S closed-loop colour quality control and Logotronic Professional production management.

A five-colour KBA Rapida 74 completes the line-up.

Andreas Mossner, KBA executive vice president of sheetfed sales, said: "Antilope richly deserves to win this prestigious award in recognition of the superb quality the company delivers.".
