After running a KBA Compacta 215 and a Compacta 213, the Izmir-based Turkish printer Caglayan Basim-Yayin A S is investing in the first shaftless press of its kind in Turkey The machine will be the company's third offset rotary machine

The 32-page web-fed commercial press Compacta 418 will be the first shaftless double-circumference press in Turkey, claimed KBA.

Founded in 1983, Caglayan was one of the first printing plants in Izmir, the seaport on the Aegean Sea with a population of over three million people.

Since 2002, the company has kept investing in innovative print technology.

The Compacta 418 would allow the company to maintain the present web width of the 16-page rotaries, whilst considerably increasing the output of the single-circumference presses.

With its staff of 120 people, Caglayan is chiefly engaged in the domestic school sector producing books, magazines and stationery, for instance.

Circulations of the weekly or monthly magazines run from 35,000 to 350,000 copies.

Daily operations also include export products for Asia, in particular for countries with a Turkish-speaking share of the population. Request a free brochure from KBA ...
