Dutch Printer Extends KBA Production Capacity
Dutch printing house Janssen Pers Rotatiedruk, a longstanding KBA customer based in Gennep, has ordered an extension to the single-width Continent web press it installed in 1999.
Under the guidance of Boleslaw Jankowski, Eldruk has evolved into a major printer of folding cartons for the pharmaceutical industry, which today accounts for over 90 per cent of sales.
Eldruk's focus on sophisticated drug packaging evolved from a steady increase in sales in this market, which Boleslaw Jankowski and his team - now 100-strong - entered not long after the company was founded.
It has been singularly successful in addressing its highly specialised demands: as the company's double-digit growth rates demonstrate, quality prevails.
To maintain that success Boleslaw Jankowski decided to expand capacity, and placed an order for a coater version of the Rapida 105 universal six-colour press after carefully weighing up the pros and cons.
e and his technical staff had seen a similar press in action and had been struck by its versatility, which they further enhanced by adding a 375mm (14.75") plinth, a Densitronic S densitometry and spectrophotometry system, a hybrid capability and a delivery extension.
Most of Eldruk's clientele had never heard of hybrid printing but that soon changed and now increasing numbers of them are enjoying the options this inline coating technology offers for creating a stunning visual impact economically.
Boleslaw Jankowski's adoption of new technologies has enabled the company to win new customers by offering a service that is virtually unique in his country.
Jankowski and his team encourage customers to raise their competitive profile by exploiting the capabilities of hybrid (high-gloss and silk-matt solids, matt and gloss spots and gradations) to design more imaginative packaging. Request a free brochure from KBA ...
