KBA - World's Longest Sheetfed Press Down Under
KBA has booked an order from Anzpac Services (Australia) Pty Ltd, Sydney (Australia) for a 12,000 sheets per hour (sph) size 6 (55") Rapida 142 press, comprising eight units.
The choice of press was influenced by the performance of the company's 18-year-old Planeta Super-Variant and of Rapida presses at two affiliated companies, Kappa Zedek in Deventer and Kappa van Mierlo in Turnhout, Belgium.
Customised equipment enables the Rapida 142 to handle solid board weighing up to 1,150gsm and 0.35mm to 1.7mm thick (13pt - 67pt) at an output of up to 10,000 sheets per hour in non-stop production claimed KBA.
An 840mm (33") plinth increases the height of the feeder and delivery piles to more than two metres (78").
The press's features include a pallet-free logistics system for the feeder developed jointly by Kappa GSF and KBA in collaboration with Krifft and Zipsner.
The Rapida went live in mid-September and within a week was proving that it is well able to handle Kappa's product range added the German press manufacturer. Request a free brochure from KBA ...
