The Acropolis Congress Centre in Nice will be the venue for the 13th technical seminar of the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO) from April 20-22 Koenig and Bauer (KBA) will be presenting the Corrugraph flexo press for corrugated board to a broader European trade public for the first time

Specialists from KBA North America and from Germany will be present to give detailed explanations.

According to KBA packaging printing on solid and corrugated boards has been a growing market with similarly growing demands for many years now.

The company commented that there seems no end to the calls for high-quality product packaging with sophisticated finishes.

With the Rapida press series, KBA believes it has already established a strong market position in the sector in sheetfed offset, with a large-format stock range extending to 1.6 mm solid board and E-flute corrugated.

The domain of the new Corrugraph flexo press begins where the stock thicknesses reach their limits in an offset process - from E-flute right through to A-flute, B-flut, C-flute and other extra-high-volume corrugated grades.

The Corrugraph, which is manufactured at KBA North America in York (Pennsylvania), is designed on a modular, fully shaftless basis with dedicated AC drives for 1,676mm x 3,000mm formats.

Corrugated sheets in thicknesses up to 10mm can be printed directly in full colour, with inline coating and die-cutting, at throughputs of up to 10,000 sheets per hour claimed KBA.

The press also features vacuum sheet guiding throughout the whole press, claimed fast job changeovers, automatic pre-setting of the print and die-cutting parameters and ergonomic touchscreen control for job data input, press operation and production data monitoring.

Two of the presses are already in operation on the North American market, at the Central Graphics and Container Group in Ontario and at the York Container Company in Pennsylvania.

A second version of the Corrugraph that is tailored more specifically to the European market, with a sheet width of 2.30 metres, is already in the pipeline and will become available next year added the company. Request a free brochure from KBA ...
