Odessa Offset, the South London (UK) billboard printer, which announced in January that it had ordered a KBA Rapida 205 supersize sheetfed offset press, has decided that big has to be even bigger The company's order for a four-colour Rapida 205 has been increased to a five unit machine and with the additional of Densitonic S colour management

"The publicity generated by our announcement in January brought us a large batch of customer enquiries.

For the work that these customers want us to produce it quickly became obvious that we needed the flexibility of the fifth unit for both corporate colours and for sealing.

We flew to Germany and KBA was very accommodating by allowing us to upgrade our order whilst maintaining our original delivery date of this Summer," said Odessa managing director Mike Charles.

The Rapida 205 which will be housed in a new 3,000 square foot press hall represents an investment of over GBP three million and will print both UV and conventional inks on a wide variety of substrates.

The giant press has a maximum sheet size of 1,510mm X 2,050mm and operates at a claimed 9,000 sheets per hour (sph).

Odessa Offset is a GBP 5.75 million turnover company, employing 32 staff.

The firm has a reputation for billboard production amongst London's advertising agencies and print management companies and now plans inroads in to the packaging, point of sale and point of purchase sectors.

For that expansion it is actively recruiting additional senior sales personnel. Request a free brochure from KBA ...
