Following a period of substantial growth KBA is adding to its UK sheetfed sales team with a further appointment David Watson, currently sales director for northern Europe with Scitex Vision, will join KBA on June 1

His task will be to further develop KBA's presence in northern England, Scotland and Ireland.

He succeeds George Kendal, who is winding down to retirement later this year.

Watson (42) began his career as a time-served litho printer with John Horn, then part of the McCorquodale Group in Scotland.

He moved in to technical sales with Litho Supplies and onwards to an eight year spell with Heidelberg, latterly as sales manager for Scotland.

Joining Scitex in 1998, Watson was selected to head up the Scitex Idanit project and with the formation of Scitex Vision became sales director for northern Europe.

He said: "At Scitex Vision we have taken the company to the pinnacle of digital print and now I am departing for a new and exciting challenge.

Since Drupa 2004 I have watched KBA develop the widest range of presses to suit printers' needs right across the spectrum.

KBA has a powerful and impressive portfolio and I look forward to being part of a continuing success story." KBA UK's executive sales director, Mark Nixon added: "This appointment is the next step in securing the knowledge and expertise that customers require from a sales manager for KBA UK. David's pedigree is without doubt going to benefit both our customers and KBA.".
