Interpack 2005 closed its doors in Dusseldorf with KBA-Metronic AG declaring the show a success, after attracting considerable attention to their own product marking systems.
Two thirds of the customer contacts recorded were new prospects showing interest from companies across varied branches of packaging, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food and drinks, media and communication, cables and machine manufacturers, all of which permits the company to look forward to lively post-fair business, said KBA-Metronic.
It was Metronic's the first trade fair since its acquisition by KBA, as it exhibited inkjet printing systems with the Alphajet C and Alphajet E systems, the F-1010, F-1010 plus, F-1030 plus and F-1010 SP laser marking family, as well as a Metronic MB01 hot-stamping machine.
With the two Alphajet systems, KBA-Metronic demonstrated that inkjet marking can be an economical technology, with the low consumption of the Alphajet C compared to competitors' systems, with costs capable of being reduced to around one third, claimed KBA-Metronic.
Visitors were able to choose an image and a name on a laptop computer and then saw those coded on to a white-coated tin by removing the colour with a CO2 laser (F-1030).
Subsequently, a marking was applied with an Alphajet C using MEK black ink, and the KBA-Metronic logo was added with a UV-sensitive ink.
Diverse possibilities for combinations of the UDA 150-S transport system and varied marking systems for off-line coding on folding cartons and blister packs were also presented.
