KBA-Grafitec's participation at the Embax Print 2005 trade fair in Brno 2005 fulfilled the company's expectations.

KBA-Grafitec's participation at the Embax Print 2005 trade fair in Brno 2005 fulfilled the company's expectations.

Although it was the company's first appearance under the KBA banner and with a new name - KBA Performa - for its revamped sheetfed presses - the show produced orders booked by Polish print entrepreneurs and there were negotiations with printers from Slovakia, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Romania.

A presentation was held in Russian for customers from Ukraine and Russia and the trade fair was also attended by print professionals from Latin America.

And KBA's supervisory board passed a resolution to invest tens of millions of Czech Koruna in new technology and additional capacity at KBA-Grafitec's production plant in Dobruska.

According to the company, the response of Czech and Slovak customers and of KBA-Grafitec dealers from around the world, indicated that KBA's acquisition of Grafitec has been welcomed in the industry.

The general consensus was that KBA's involvement will guarantee stability in the future.

A KBA Performa 74 six-colour B2 coater press and Performa 66 five-colour SRA2 press, both exhibited in KBA livery and optics for the first time at Embax, attracted a lot of interest, as did the Embax premiere of a five-colour B3 Genius 52.

Another exhibit, a 46 Karat digital offset press, printed portraits of Marek Vasut, a popular Czech actor who hosted the press demonstrations.

CTP from Presstek also made its debut in the Czech Republic.

The 425 Excel uses Profire imaging heads.

The significance of the trade fair for KBA was underscored by the participation of the company's top management headed by president and chief executive officer, Albrecht Bolza-Schunemann, who attended a meeting with customers and business partners in Spilberk Castle.
