First Shaftless Press Of Its Kind In Turkey
After running a KBA Compacta 215 and a Compacta 213, the Izmir-based Turkish printer Caglayan Basim-Yayin A.S.is investing in the first shaftless press of its kind in Turkey.
Press Island Inc, with its printing plants HRG Inc (sheet-fed) and Merkurtisk Corp (web-offset), is one of the most modern printing houses in the Czech Republic and is also looking forward to delivery of a new Compacta 215 16-page commercial web press from KBA.
Merkurtisk, the web-offset facility, has developed in leaps and bounds since its founding in May 2000.
The favourable geographical location at the heart of Europe, close to the Polish border and just a two-hour drive to the north east of the Czech capital Prague, opens up countless opportunities.
Just a few kilometres away from the new KBA subsidiary Grafitec in Dobruska, Nachod is a good location for serving the Polish market, said KBA.
Merkurtisk has already to date been printing high-quality commercial products on a 16-page web press.
With the new 50,000 cylinder rph Compacta 215, however, it is now geared to further growth and to higher levels of print quality and flexibility.
The press ordered is to be equipped with a KBA Pastostar RC reelstand, four printing units with semi-automatic plate changing, a superstructure with two turner bar pairs and an F3 gripper folder.
The supplementary 2 x 8-page module of the F3 folder permits the production of 2 x 8 pages A4 or 2 x 4 pages A3 without additional investment in a second folder, said KBA.
Draft plans for later integration of a fifth and sixth printing unit are already in the drawer to ensure that the press can be adapted easily in the future in response to changing market demands. Request a free brochure from KBA ...
