The first KBA symposium to be organised in Singapore was held at the Regent Hotel Stefan Segger, general manager of KBA Asia Pacific in Singapore, welcomed the guests from Singapore and Malaysia with a brief presentation of KBA's organisation in Singapore, which comprises a team of mechanics, electronics engineers and printers

The Singapore operation has a spare parts store and maintains a close network with KBA China and KBA Australasia to ensure fast and deliveries of spare parts whenever needed, said KBA.

The company commented that many of those attending the event were not already aware that, in addition to its sheetfed offset technology from A3 to superlarge format, KBA also serves almost every other segment of the printing industry.

Jurgen Veil, KBA head of marketing for sheetfed offset, presented the global market trends and some of the technical highlights of the medium-format Rapida 105 universal and the 18,000 sheets per hour (sph) Rapida 105 press.

He also described the opportunities to gain a competitive edge through in-line finishing.
