Monprint and Industrias Rotographik in Spain have re-affirmed their faith in KBA technology with new contracts to buy Compacta commercial presses.
Rotographik's choice, a 32-page Compacta 418, will come on stream next January, Monprint will take delivery of an identical 418 and a 16-page Compacta 215 later that quarter.
Monprint is a joint venture enterprise established in 2004 by Industrias Graficas Printone and SOFIEX (Sociedad de Fomento Industrial de Extremadura).
It has two main business lines, commercial and customised products with special finishes.
To sustain growth in the long term the companies have invested in a new joint production plant in Plasencia, 250 kilometres (156 miles) west of Madrid, where construction work is now in full swing.
Printone started in 1991 and is a web offset specialist with one 16-page and three 32-page presses to its name.
At present its production plant in Valdemoro, near Madrid, prints over 200 titles.
Barcelona-based Rotographik, whose press fleet comprises two 16-page and two 32-page presses, has been printing high-quality national and international periodicals since 1975.
The company distributes its titles in major European markets, via a network of foreign outlets.
The two identical Compacta 418 presses will each have manual reel feed, a Pastomat RC reel stand, four printing units with semi-automatic plate changing, plus automatic colour measurement and control, a thermal air dryer, a chill roller stand, a superstructure and a P5 pin folder.
The Compacta 215 will be configured with a Pastostar RC reel stand, five printing units with automatic plate changing, an F3 gripper folder and a sheeter for stock weights of 200gsm (110lb index) or more.
