Dutch Printer Extends KBA Production Capacity
Dutch printing house Janssen Pers Rotatiedruk, a longstanding KBA customer based in Gennep, has ordered an extension to the single-width Continent web press it installed in 1999.
The company said that the Genius 52UV was developed for cost-effective printing on expensive, non-absorbent substrates, such as synthetics, lenticulars and laminated film from 0.1mm - 0.8mm (4pt 32pt) thick.
Many of the 80 or so Genius presses currently in operation also print paper and board to high standards.
KBA commented that even companies new to the waterless production sector soon master the Genius's technology, which enables them to respond with agility to market demand.
Because the waterless UV inks cure instantly by polymerisation, the sheets can be passed through the press a second time, or finished without delay.
