KBA 15,000sph Press Enters Military
Service
One of KBA's five-colour Rapida 105 universal presses is performing military service - printing maps for the Bulgrian Army.
The medium format Rapida is in production at the Military Geographical Service of the Bulgarian Army in Troyan, where the maps it prints are for military and general use The press was bought within the framework of the NATO programme 'partners for partnership' where the 15,000 sheets per hour (sph) Rapida 105 universal works in tandem with a Kodak CTP system in the new print centre erected by the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence

German packaging printer Offermann-Verpackungen in Eschweiler, near Aachen, celebrated its 25th jubilee by installing a KBA Rapida 105 universal press.
At the press's innauguration ceremony KBA's sales director, Sven Strzelczyk, presented Colonel Gladkov with an historical KBA share certificate and thanked him for the confidence placed in KBA as a key supplier for the new print centre.
Strzelczyk recalled that a printing press from KBA's Radebeul headquarters in Germany had already been in use at the Military Geographical Service for 80 years and was even now still in an excellent condition.
