Dutch Printer Extends KBA Production Capacity
Dutch printing house Janssen Pers Rotatiedruk, a longstanding KBA customer based in Gennep, has ordered an extension to the single-width Continent web press it installed in 1999.
The company will be removing a Heidelberg four-colour Speedmaster press, one of the MOZPs and a four-colour Akiyama machine and the two KBA presses will combine to provide a common plate structure and JDF flexibility.
Mark Nixon, KBA UK's executive sales director, said : "Securing this order for Brunswick's next development is a significant achievement for KBA and our agents Reprocentre.
Not only does this signify the ability of this press but also Brunswick's satisfaction with the level of service and support the company receives from us both.

KBA Readies New SLF Presses For Market
The biggest SLF offset press on the international market entered the final phase of production at the beginning of November 2003 with the successful conclusion of sheet-run trials at KBA's factory.
With this investment Brunswick Press will continue to be major player in the Irish market." The Brunswick Press shopping list of recent times has included Fuji CTP and Tharsten MIS upgrade and to support the new big KBA press will come a new JDF compatible Wohlenberg 115 guillotine and two pile hoists, as well as a Baumann automatic jogger, an extra MBO T800 with automatic Navigator control feeder and a new seven-station Muller Martini stitching line with Amrys, together with a new workflow software for the CTP system.
Brunswick managing director, Peter Allman, commented: "We aim to be a little more aggressive without sacrificing any of our traditional values.
It is a tough market here in Ireland and it's quite difficult to make a cent or two but our driving force is customer satisfaction." He added: "You do not run a business with plant alone.
It's the people that make it work and we are lucky to have a good and loyal crew working the 'Brunner'." Brunswick's traditional values stretch way back and through its parent company Dublin University Press, can trace its origins to before 1734.
Brunswick Press itself, founded in 1842, today employs 55 staff and has a turnover of EUR6.25 million.
Its market of books, magazines and commercial colour work is based on contracts with government agencies and academic institutions.
Brunswick Press is a fourth generation family business.
Peter Allman has his brother Brian looking after the academic business, his son Dale overseeing IT, estimating and administration and younger daughter Amber as company secretary and involved in sales.
Other daughter Alison is also a company person.
The Allman family recognises it also needs outside experience and injections of new ideas and fresh blood illustrated by the company's works director, Peter Behan and sales director, Brendan McKenna who, with a team of five people, has to feed increased volume to the new KBA press.
Adding weight to the quest for growth is the appointment of Brian Murphy, late of Wood Printcraft, as the company's development manager. Request a free brochure from KBA ...
