The Printexpo show in Budapest (Hungary) saw KBA exhibit what it claimed to be the largest sheetfed press in the show's history - a Performa 74 five-colour B2 (29-inch) machine.

The Performa 74 was built by KBA's Czech subsidiary KBA-Grafitec and exhibited for the first time in Hungary by its agency, KBA Slovensko.

The press that was demonstrated printing different products and it was equipped with semi-automatic plate in-feed, remote adjustment of diagonal register, ink-unit temperature control, dedicated drives for the dampening distributor rollers and an infrared dryer.

KBA said that SRA2 (26-inch) presses, such as the Performa 66 are the most popular in Hungary but interest is growing in the higher productivity afforded by bigger presses like the Performa 74, which is also claimed to provide a better print quality.

Two Performa 74 presses have been installed by Nyiregyhaza and Gyor.
