Spanish Newspaper Extends Press For More
Colour
To enhance printing and colour capacity, Spanish newspaper publisher Iniciativas de Publicaciones e Impresion in Cordoba will add an extension to its single-width KBA Comet press line.
The company's order is for a Comet press with four KBA Pastoline reelstands, four towers for 4/4 and a KF3 folder An existing section will have two more Pastoline reelstands and towers added

KBA Comet Goes In At Turkish Newspaper Plant
Another of KBA's popular two-across, two-around Comets will come on stream in mid-year at the Istanbul production plant of Turkish newspaper publishing house Feza Gazetecilik.
In addition to a retrofit package and a control upgrade for two sections, KBA will provide six new consoles for the complete installation and a diagnostics PC for remote maintenance.
The Comet's specification includes a 578mm (22.75") cut-off on web widths variable between 635mm and 840mm - 870mm (25" - 33" and 34.25") as well as a standard width of 800mm (31.5").
When the Comet press was first installed in 1995, KBA claimed that it was one of the first newspaper presses in the world to feature shaftless drives.
Part of the Zeta group, Iniciativas de Publicaciones e Impresion prints a number of periodicals along with daily titles that include Mundo del Siglo XXI, La Razon, Sport, Mundo Deportivo, three editions of 20 Minutos and Diario Cordoba.
