Dutch Printer Extends KBA Production Capacity
Dutch printing house Janssen Pers Rotatiedruk, a longstanding KBA customer based in Gennep, has ordered an extension to the single-width Continent web press it installed in 1999.
KBA added that as pile changes at feeder and delivery on the press are frequent when working with such substrates, an automated pile logistics system takes care of the necessary productivity.
The company claimed that compared to the flexo printing alternative, direct offset printing allows RoK to achieve a higher print quality with finer gradations.
That is successful, especially in the high-quality market because it enhances the attractiveness of products at the point of sale.
Since commissioning the Rapida 142 press one year ago, RoK has already produced corrugated packaging for various customers.
Revenue has also been increased and, compared to the conventional lamination process, which necessarily involves a second process step, direct offset printing on corrugated board brings economic benefits for many applications, claimed KBA.
The Innoward awards are presented annually by the Chamber of Commerce of the Austrian state of Styria to commend outstanding uses of innovative technology.
Rondo Ganahl was also nominated for a tate Prize for Exemplary Packaging, awarded annually by the Austrian Institute of Packaging.
The company submitted a corrugated wine presentation box which, according to the jury, was a design that provided full product visibility, whilst ensuring optimum protection for the contents and simple handling. Request a free brochure from KBA ...
