European folding cartons producer, Rondo, has ordered a KBA Rapida 105 six-colour B1 (41-inch) UV coater press with extended delivery for its subsidiary Rondo-Pak USA, near Philadelphia.
Rondo said that the new press will enable its American subsidiary to expand its market by offering customers high-profile finishing options The company, which also produces clinical inspection samples and specialist packaging for the pharmaceutical industry, ordered the automated press because it can print paper and board, and will feature a no-sidelay KBA Drivetronic Sensoric Infeed System (SIS), the company's Densitronic S density and spectral imaging control, as well as automatic colour register control
The press will also include KBA's Qualitronic II quality inspection with blank-tagging capability, which is claimed to be a first in sheetfed offset printing.
