Color Press Line Expands Danish
Printer's Capacity
To expand production capacity a KBA 4/2 Colora press line is to be installed by Danish printer Hornslet Bogtrykkeri.
The new press will be installed alongside an existing KBA 2/1 press next year The 75,000 copies per hour floor-mounted machine has a cylinder circumference of 1,120mm (44") and is claimed to be able to handle a maximum web width of 1,590mm (62.5")

Dutch Printer Extends KBA Production Capacity
Dutch printing house Janssen Pers Rotatiedruk, a longstanding KBA customer based in Gennep, has ordered an extension to the single-width Continent web press it installed in 1999.
It will be configured with two KBA Pastomat C reelstands fed by a KBA Patras A automatic reel-handling system with stripping station.
The two four-high towers will have automatic ink pumping, colour-register control and fan-out compensation.
The press will feature two turner bars, a folder superstructure with two formers, a KF 3 jaw folder with a 2:3:3 cylinder ratio, a section and ribbon stitcher and it will have quarterfold capability.
Provision has also been made for the addition of a skip slitter, a gluing unit and length and cross perforators to be installed at a later date.
The press's automation extends to the control technology and will include job preparation and press presetting, a RIP interface to CTP pre-press for pre-setting the ink keys and a diagnostic PC for remote maintenance.
Hornslet Bogtrykkeri's managing director, Hother Hennings, said: "We are adding a second press line to address a need for shorter production times and more capacity with a high print quality.
The Colora will not only expand capacity but will also furnish much greater flexibility because we'll be able to print low circulation and high circulation titles simultaneously and more efficiently."
